From WBEZ Seattle it’s This Friday Email, I’m Nathan B .
If you ask most Americans about the last board game they played, you tend to get a lot of the same answers.
[Audio takes on a distinct recorded-in-public quality.]
“Uh… Monopoly?”
[Child speaking] “Candy Land.”
“… Clue, I guess.”
[Back in the studio now. Audio is notably crisper.]
For a lot of people that is the whole range of games they are aware of. But as you might expect, when you talk to enthusiasts you get very different answers. Long time listener, first time caller. Love the show. I heard recently that sometimes people bring carrots and broccoli to game nights instead of nachos. And that there’s always beer. I won’t be able to check out my local game night this week, but it sounds like a hoppin good time.
