The (Sunday) monogamenight

Game Friends,
Once, there was a person who lived in a city near the water, but also near the mountains. And they lived a life that was mostly comfortable, most of the time, in the scheme of things. On Sundays, they relaxed at home and it was, well, comfortable.
One day, this person received an invitation to Sunday Game Night. And they did not attend, because they were very comfortable.
Week after week, the invitations arrived, and every week the resident of the city between the water and the mountains declined to attend, because it was so very comfortable at home.
Yet each week a seed of curiosity grew, until eventually they decided that they would attend Sunday Game Night after all. And so they crossed the threshold of their comfortable home and journeyed forth. On their way, they surmounted many trials, such as inclement weather, but they persevered. And upon arrival, it was revealed that they must pay a heavy cost to achieve their goal, but, having been forewarned through supernatural means, they were prepared, having carried with them the requisite snacks. (Or was it drinks? I can’t remember).
Having reached the innermost circle, this person was granted knowledge of games previously unknown to them, and were welcomed into a congregation of those who shared in the knowledge. And at the end of the evening, they returned to their comfortable home, having been (if ever so slightly) changed.
