You can go ahead and call me a radical but I believe in counting every single RSVP to Sunday Game Night. It’s also no secret that I prefer it when the RSVPs are positive, but that doesn’t stop me from counting each and every RSVP I receive. And you can rely on me: I take all the RSVPs, the ones that agree to show up at 5pm, the ones that promise snack or drink in hand, the ones that are cleverly composed responses to the invitation, and yes, even the ones that regretfully decline, and I count them, and then, whether or not I like the outcome, I host Game Night.

The REAL question is what about all the people who show up to game night WITHOUT an rsvp??? I’ve heard that possibly millions of plates of nachos and turns of Feast for Odin have been TAKEN by people who never sent an rsvp! They’re bringing drinks, they’re bringing snacks, they’re game-players, and some, I assume are decent people. Even now, I hear that hundreds, possibly thousands, of fun, interesting, swarthy, virile, un-rsvp’d game nighters (SOME OF THEM BRINGING CHILDREN) are inching ever closer to game night’s front door!
